About Epicenter's Decisive Win in the 2022 Travers Stakes

Even-money favorite Epicenter stalked the pace with a perfect ground-saving trip under Joel Rosario and then put away the field when asked to win the Grade 1, $1.25 million Travers Stakes for owner Winchell Thoroughbreds and Hall of Fame trainer Steve Asmussen.

Epicenter completed 1 1/4-mile on a fast track in 2:00.72 to beat runner-up and 9-2 second choice Cyberknife, last month's Haskell (G1) winner who set the pace after breaking from the rail. Zandon checked in third with Kentucky Derby winner Rich Strike rounding out the superfecta. 

Asmussen and Rosario earned their first win in the Travers.
